Why can my computer find the wireless router but it won't connect to the network?

Question by Stef: Why can my computer find the wireless router but it won't connect to the network?
I recently bought a netbook and while setting it up in my house it shows that there is an available wireless network (my linksys router) but when I attempt to connect it fails every time. I don't have the connection from the linksys secured and it is a very strong single. Any ideas?

Answer by tycobb2000Do you have a working internet connection? Plug the netbook directly to you connection to be sure. If you connect then follow these steps. If your connection is IP(internet provider)>>>>>>modem>>>>>>wireless router>>>>>>netbook. Shut down the netbook, shut off the power to the wireless router, and unhook the Ethernet cable from the router and modem. Connect the Ethernet cable between the modem the the wireless router.
