Q&A: Connecting surround speakers to the subwoofer then a "system cable" connects subwoofer to receiver?

Question by Dave L: Connecting surround speakers to the subwoofer then a "system cable" connects subwoofer to receiver?
I have a home theather system (JVC th-c6) with a slightly different setup. All the surround speaker cables connect to the subwoofer and a single "system cord" connects the subwoofer to the receiver/dvd player. My receiver/dvd player just died and I need to get a new one. The problem is I would like to buy something that has this "system cord" so that I can keep all my speakers and powered subwoofer. Is the "system cord" hook up fairly common? The cord looks like a s-video cable. My manual calls this cable "system cable". Never seen this set-up in other home theater. Maybe common for HTIB (all in one type)?

Answer by UsialimasatuThe system cord is unique to JVC. You would have to purchase a JVC player to keep on using the same setup.
