What do you call land that appears to be a single island but is actually connected to another island?

Question by aaaannddy: What do you call land that appears to be a single island but is actually connected to another island?
Like, under the water, two islands are connected, so if the water level were to drop, it would become one island. I can't think of any examples, but is there a name for that?
I'm pretty sure delta is just the name for the outlet of a river.

And sure, all land is connected in a sense, but there must be a name for islands that are more connected to one another than to other islands or mainland.
