I am trying to connect a 3-phase motor to a single phase power?

Question by dlyall4321: I am trying to connect a 3-phase motor to a single phase power?
I have a 3-phase motor running a planer. At our house we only have single phase 220v power. The person selling the planer also supplied an additional 3-phase motor, and a bank of capacitors and said it was possible to simulate 3-phase with some arrangement of this extra equipment.

Any suggestions would be welcome

Answer by Felix Arcanushmm i dunno. sounds to me like ur bout to blow something up. and i'm an IBEW electrician. maybe it can be done though, who knows...
