Answer by bobinnTry a vinegar wash. But, anytime you remove the factory "shine" from tin, you will promote eventual rust thru. It will take a long time, to actually rust, but it will rust. Once washed with vinegar, the metal will loose it's sheen, and will develop a whitish hue, that will appear mottled.
